Staff and organization

Herman Kizito

Before Founded AIDEST in 2010, Herman worked as a Volunteer Counselor and Outreach Coordinator in Nsambya Hospital (Homecare Department) in Kampala for three years. He also had his own business of a Secretarial Bureau in Mukono Town, Project or Business Consultant, worked for Generosity International as a Project Coordinator as well for AIDS Action Uganda both Non-governmental Organizations from 2002 – 2010. All of this, he joined St. Mbaga’s Seminary in Gaba – Uganda for a Diploma of Philosophy Course, which he completed at Asmara Theological College in Asmara – Eritrea in 1989. He then joined Makerere Institute for Social Development in Kampala where he attained a Higher Diploma in Project Planning and Management in 2005.

Augustine Mugisha

As a Senior Consultant and Community Development Officer, Augustine is also a Professional Educationist teaching at the secondary school level. He completed a three-year course at the Uganda Christian University, Mukono where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Economics. He started working with AIDEST since 2013.

Rose Nakanwagi

Works as an Administrator / Finance Assistant, earned a 2-year Diploma in Secretarial Studies and Communication at YMCA, Mukono, after that she first worked in various schools, until she joined AIDEST in 2013. She is married to a Ugandan but still working with the organization.

Joseph Basalirwa

He is a graduate of Kyambogo University in Kampala, where he obtained a Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineer.  He works with AIDEST as a Program Manager and a Renewable Energy Consultant. Before joining AIDEST in 2013, he worked with various private companies and he is an Electrical Engineer by which he gained viable experience and expertise over the years. He is a Mentor and Coach of Young Entrepreneurs in Electrical and Solar Technologies and Installation.

Sam Galiwango

Sam got his Bachelor of Commerce at Makarere University in Kampala. Afterward, he worked for two years as a Consul Assistant at Rosa Consults in Kampala. He was a teacher at Nyenje Primary School in Mukono for 5 years. He is the founder and manager of GSConsults a small company that empowers communities with information sharing and learning online. He also works as a Certified Public Accountant at Continental Partners. Aside from his computer training programs at AIDEST, Sam fulfills several roles at AIDEST, both as a computer trainer and as a staff member.

Teunte Loo

He is one of the two non-Ugandan support staff, and a Dutch – Teunte Loo. He has an Applied Bachelor of Commerce, received from HAN University in Nijmegen (Netherlands), and a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from Tilburg University (Netherlands). Teun joined the AIDEST team in May 2013 after working for Dutch Grid Operator Alliander and our Dutch partner 1%CLUB.

Jonas

Jonas voluntarily designed and help to host www.aidest.org, and besides provided the @aidest.org email addresses. As one of the two non-Ugandan support staff, he developed the AIDEST website in 2013 until now it is active.
